Privacy Policy for SmartPOS
Last updated: January 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Joocbox (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the SmartPOS mobile application (“App”).
1) Overview
SmartPOS is designed to work offline-first. Most business data you enter (such as products, sales, customers, suppliers, and reports) is stored locally on your device.
If your app build displays ads, the App may use Google AdMob to serve advertisements, which may collect and share certain device and usage information as described below.
2) Information we collect
A) Information you provide in the App (stored locally)
The App may store the following information on your device:
- Product and inventory data (names, prices, quantities, images you choose)
- Sales and transaction records
- Customer and supplier details you enter (e.g., names, phone numbers, notes)
- Business settings (e.g., store name/logo if you set one)
- Local backups you create (if you use backup/export features)
We do not require you to create an account to use the App.
B) Information collected automatically (Ads / diagnostics)
If your App build includes Google AdMob, AdMob may automatically collect and share information such as:
- Device identifiers (including advertising identifiers, where available)
- IP address (which may be used to infer approximate location)
- Ad interaction events (e.g., impressions, clicks)
- Diagnostics and performance data (e.g., crash-related signals)
This information is processed by Google to provide, measure, and improve ads, and for fraud prevention and security.
3) How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide core App functionality (POS, inventory, customer/supplier management, reporting)
- Store and display your records on-device
- Allow you to add images you choose to products or settings
- Support backup/export and restore features (local files you initiate)
- If ads are enabled: display and measure ads and help prevent fraud/abuse
4) Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only in these cases:
- Third-party advertising (if enabled): Data may be shared with Google AdMob to serve and measure ads and for security/fraud prevention.
- Legal reasons: If required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5) App permissions and why they are used
SmartPOS may request device permissions to support features you choose to use:
- Photos/Media (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / legacy storage on older Android): To let you select images (e.g., product photos or logo) that you choose in the App. The App does not scan your entire library in the background.
- Camera: If the App provides image capture or barcode scanning features, this is used only when you open that feature.
- Bluetooth: If the App supports connecting to nearby devices (for example, printers or other POS peripherals), this is used only when you initiate that connection.
- Internet: Used for optional services such as ads (if enabled) and related network operations.
You can control permissions in your device settings. Some features may not work if you deny the permission required for that feature.
6) Data retention
- Core business data you enter is stored locally on your device and remains there until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
- Local backup/export files remain on your device until you delete them.
- If ads are enabled, AdMob data retention is governed by Google’s policies.
7) Security
We take reasonable steps to help protect information processed by the App. However, no mobile app can guarantee absolute security. We recommend protecting your device with a lock screen and keeping your OS up to date.
8) Your choices and controls
- Delete local data: You can remove records within the App and/or uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data.
- Ads controls: If ads are enabled, you can manage ad personalization through your Google/Android device settings.
9) Children’s privacy
The App is intended for business and general productivity use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
